The actor who embodied Anakin Skywalker's transformation into the galaxy's most feared Sith Lord remains eager to delve deeper into both sides of this iconic character's journey. Hayden Christensen, whose portrayal of the Jedi-turned-Dark Side warrior defined the Star Wars prequel trilogy, has successfully returned to the franchise through appearances in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka.
As Ahsoka Season 2 approaches production, Christensen continues contemplating which unexplored narrative territories within the Star Wars universe he'd most like to investigate.
During his appearance at Fan Expo Boston (reported by Collider), Christensen outlined his personal Star Wars creative aspirations.
"I'm enthusiastic about portraying additional Clone Wars-era Anakin material. I believe compelling narratives exist within that timeframe, and the opportunity to engage in lightsaber combat alongside Ewan [McGregor] again would be extraordinary."
However, his creative interests extend beyond Anakin's heroic period, as Christensen expressed particular fascination with the character's villainous evolution.
"I'm passionate about developing more content within Darth Vader's timeline... I believe substantial, compelling material remains unexplored.
"Should the decision-makers pursue a Vader-focused spinoff project, I'd commit immediately. Absolutely. I would relish the opportunity. Continuing to examine this character across both temporal periods would be incredible."
Christensen also demonstrated willingness to reprise Anakin's Force ghost manifestation, commenting, "Any of these opportunities would provide tremendous enjoyment."
The concept of a dedicated Darth Vader series featuring Christensen's involvement appears strategically sound. While audiences have experienced extensive Anakin and Vader content across theatrical releases, animated productions, and live-action series, numerous untold stories from Vader's imperial reign remain unexplored.
Ahsoka Season 2 anticipates arrival next year, while the upcoming theatrical Star Wars experience, The Mandalorian & Grogu, reaches cinemas this May. Should Lucasfilm eventually authorize Christensen's envisioned project, audience enthusiasm seems guaranteed.
